So, I pulled the trigger on a slightly used 14 2500 CC blacked out 6.4l.
The truck rides rougher than any truck I have ever owned. I believe it has a lot to do with 35 x 12.5 on the stock 20's. Evidently, the lift is a BDS level. More research on that tomorrow.
Truck has 33k on it and tires are worn horribly in the middle. I lowered the tire pressure in the rear to 57 just to see if there was a ride difference. Went for a 5 or 6 mile run and the TPMS still showed they were at 80. Can you cheat TPMS and if so what do I look for.

The brake pads and rotors look fine. but this thing grinds to a stop. Is there a programmer or something that could have disabled ABS?

I knew I would have some bugs to work out on this thing to make it mine. So, any tell tale signs of a cheater or anything else I should look out for would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

There is a procedure to print out and take to the dealer and have them do to lower the tpms thresholds on the 14+ trucks. There is a thread about it in the Heavy duty section. As for the abs, there is no method I know of to disable it and keep the lights off. You would lose your speedometer at the same time. I would do a couple panic type stops to see if you can re-seat the pads to get rid of the noise. The pads on the HD trucks are very high in metallic content so they are prone to making noise.

I'd give those brakes a work out...bed the pads and season the rotors using a brake manufacturer's recommendations. Baer Brakes has a good How To on their website for this procedure.

Do the TPMS reset then follow the tire maker's recommended pressures.

There is no way to tell, just by running and driving the truck, on any programming. A dealer scan would be able to tell if something was loaded on the PCM.

Never had any noise from my brakes on my 2014 2500. Have you tried a "panic" stop at speed to see if the abs kicks in?
