I have been working out a deal with a dealership on a 2014 2wd crew cab with a hemi, the truck has 23,000 miles on it. It is a 6 speed automatic.

What maintenance should have been done over those 23,000 miles and what maintenance would be coming up over the next 10,000 miles? I understand oil/filter changes every 3k to 5k miles depending on oil type and engine air filter. What about the other things such as rear axle service, transmission service, ect....

Also, are there any particular things to look out for a 2014 hemi with this type of mileage?

Thanks

So excited to move off my 2006 v6 quad cab.

At that mileage, the maintenance is basically oil changes and tire rotations. So long as that has been done, should be fine.

I agree with Hoot, at this point only oil changes and possibly tire rotation. I have 29K on mine and I just have done oil every 6K.

Because you don't know the background of the truck and how it was taken care of, and because I am an un-trusting soul, I would change ALL the fluids and do a trans flush and filter also. I'd also rotate and balance the tires and have the front suspension checked(ball joints)at least visually. If you do these things you have a good foundation to start with and you may be able to spot any potential problems. Also ask for any prior maintenance records if they have them.

Your oil change intervals to be right around every 10,000 miles now. Have the dealer pull the records and see if it's been changed at the dealer, it's a popular thing to have the first 3 or 4 oil change is done by the dealer.

Like others said, tire rotations and the basics is all you really need to look out for at this point.

I'd check the air filter, and if there's any evidence that looks like it did a lot of towing or anything, you may want to just check the differential fluid but you should be fine.

You should be able to go out enjoy the hell out of the truck!

See if the recalls were done. Should be about 3.

In addition to routine maintenance per Schedule B in your owners manual, I'd have the dealer run the VIN and check on any recalls or technical service bulletins that apply to your truck and that haven't been done.
