Just bought a new 2013 Power Wagon. Quite a bit different that the vehicle it is replacing - 1st Generation 1992 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel.

The old 1992 has been an incredibly reliable vehicle for where my other half goes - up close to the Yukon/Alaska border.
Million Mile Motor, but unfortunately it is getting difficult to find parts for the old girl.

Was originally looking for a newer diesel (maybe a couple years old), looking around the Dodge lot when we spotted this truck - sitting higher than any of the others, covered in snow.

Little bit out of our original price range, but what nice ride. All the fancy interior stuff for me and all the important truck stuff for him. Definitely a smoother ride that the old one

If this new Power Wagon is half as good as the one we have, we will have no complaints

Purchased some custom seat covers from Wet Okle (cant even tell they are seat covers they fit so perfectly), rifle rack from Greatday and nice canopy to put the dogs into for when we go camping. Now just to get a brush guard and a roof rack and we should be good to go.

Gonna have a hard time christening it - it is nicely parked in the garage at present (hubby's first new vehicle EVER) - but she will get to show what she is capable of soon.

I know. Hard to tell they are seat covers. Pain to put on - don't ever want to have to take off and wash, but they are nice looking

It is a Leer Legend. Insulated Canopy with led interior lights. Fits perfectly, the only set back is that it curves around the box, making it hard to put a boat rack under it. Currently investigating other options right now

Now you got me wishing I had a Sunroof. That, and the new 6.4 are the only two things I feel like I missed out on in the purchase of mine.

But, honestly I was Soooo lucky to find a Power Wagon even remotely close, let alone at the local dealership. It fell into my lap like it was destiny.

And the larger gas motor was not available at the time, so that is just tough luck.

Other than that, I have ZERO regrets. And that is a strong statement from a guy like me.

Of course, everyone would have liked to have paid less. But, with all the bells and whistles, and being as capable and well built as it is, I am confident it was worth every single penny.

I've got a LEER 100XL on my current GMC 1500 that the Ram will replace. It looks like the same shell that you have.. It does wrap over the bed rails like you mentioned. Maybe new mounts for the boat rack that follow the same contour will work? My 100XL has the Thule rack system and it works great for kayaks, bikes, etc. I'm running 5 load bars with a center bar running lengthwise to distribute the load for a lift system. I wouldn't hesitate loading a 14' aluminum fishing boat up there as long as I had some help loading and unloading. How big is your boat?

The boat we have is a 12 ft aluminium. Do you have pictures of your set up?

Here's a pic of my rack on th GMC. You could probably get by with three cross bars. My kayak lifter puts quite a load on the bars so I went this route to distribute the load.

Did you add that system on after the fact or did you have it installed after you had the canopy for a bit. Where did you get the cross pieces for it. That system definitely looks like it would work for us

It came with the Thule tracks, two towers and two load bars. I added the other load bars and towers. Your should be able to add the tracks and then you can configure it as needed for your situation. Mine gets switched back and forth between yaks and mountain bikes and it just made more sense to have a bunch of load bars so I'm not moving so many things to reconfigure. That plus the weight distribution for the yak lift.
