Hey everyone. New to the forum and figured I would pop in and say Hi.
I am not new to rams or Mopars, I have had a hand full or rams over the years but my biggest affair with Mopar would have to be the 4 years I spent building a Plum crazy purple 1972 Plymouth Duster 340 from scrapyard to showroom. It was featured in MoparMuscle magazine in 2010. However I ended up selling it in 2013 and I have had the itch to get another Mopar since (my wife has an 05 GC limited with the 5.7l And I had about enough of her having a tougher vehicle than mine HAHA).
So we recently purchased a 2011 Ram 1500 ,Deep water blue pearl ,QC ,4x4 Sport/TRX4 ,loaded and of course with the 5.7l Hemi.
This is my first 4th gen and so far I love it!.
I had looked for about 2 months for "the right truck" and was not having very good luck. The miles had to be right, the colors had to be right,it had to be 4 doors,it had to have atleast most of the options I wanted, had to have the hemi and had to be priced right.
Finally when I had just about gave up I found it! with 52,000 miles,1 owner, clean car fax, loaded with almost every option (power moon roof, heated seats, cooled seats, heated steering wheel, leather, center console with slap shift,TRX4 package, power sliding rear window, touch screen nav, back up cam, alpine system, remote start, power pedals...Almost everything aside from rear heated seats and fold down rear center arm rest and rear dvd entertainment. But I am not complaining!.
I was under the impression that the TRX4 package only came in a 2 tone paint job. But apparently not. And the decals appear factory and the build sheet shows the options that you would find one one such as the heavy duty items and the taller shocks...etc..etc.. Was also under the impression the TRX4 package ended in 2010....but the truck is a 10 of 10 truck and titled a 2011 So I am assuming the original owner special ordered the truck with the TRX4 package but without the 2 tone paint scheme possibly. Either way I like it, just curious as I see there are issues finding leveling kits for the TRX4 trucks.
The trucks original owner was from canada apparently. All the build sheet information seems to show that, aswell as finding a receipt under the seat in french language, and the built in radio hard drive was full of music in french. So that was kind of a neat thing to encounter lol.
Im currently going through the new truck "upgrades stage" thinking about what mods I want to get and where I want to start. I think I am going to start with some tinted putco in channel vent visors,a front leveling kit,Tri fold bed cover,l.e.d interior lights, possibly a cold air intake and a slightly more aggressive exhaust set up. I have been looking into the mufflex 14" magnaflow replacement but still have yet to decide. That is probably down the road a bit yet anyhow.
Anyways, Just wanted to introduce myself. Hope to frequent the site often.
Let me know what you think of my truck. Also tossed in a picture of my old Duster I built for those who may have been curious.
