Also, if you run with the tail gate down, and pull trailer, get good mud flaps. It is illegal here to sell a truck with out mud flaps.
P.S. , if you are new to trucks and trailers, DO NOT forget when you have a trailer hooked up, and you need more turning room.
Many years ago I seen a fellow, pulling a 30 ft bumper pull try to go into a under ground parking lot. He forgot about the trailer, City fellow, Trailer was a write off.

Also another dumb question, when you guys use your bed for storing stuff you guys just put groceries etc in the back and expect them to slide right, or do you guys like bungee or strap even the little things? And if I am pulling a trailer & have an atv in the back with the tailgate down, is that fine to drive? Do I need to do anything to the tailgate to ensure its locked?
I put my groceries in the back seat area, with the seats up and the platform down. When I had my regular cab I kept folding cargo baskets in the bed bungied to the side. I've also used a bed cargo bar that locks in the bed a couple of feet back. Enjoy! You'll never go back to a car.

Lol!.....yep!......I've probably hauled more things in the cab with the platform down than in the bed!

View attachment 466644Hello Everyone,

I just picked up a 2021 1500 classic (attached build sheet).

Ive never had anything remotely close to a pickup truck, got it for hauling atvs, and doing work without getting other vehicles dirty. But I have no idea what to expect.

I Would like to ask anyone what are some general intro steps for this 1500, any known issues for this particular model or engine etc, did I pick a good spec etc.

Some basic stuff so far is im at 700 km so far, when starting off from a stop, I can feel maybe a click or two in the gas pedal. Ive already hauled a dual axle trailer (2750 lbs with 1500 lbs of atvs) for a 100 km + trip did I do any damage?. I dont know what the jerking motion some people mention is and im not sure if mine has it? For towing, do I use tow/haul and do I need to get a Trailer sway control or brake control or anything or is everything fine the way it is?View attachment 466643
NICE RIDE, so remember U bought a Classic, so ne thing U buy for it is for a 4th Gen DS truck, not a 5th Gen DT truck. What type of trailer are you pulling? You said dual axle, does it have electric brakes? IF it does, U need to get OEM TT controls put in if they R not already there,. I did not see it on yer sticker and should have been listed. ALSO, since U R way far North, and salt and dirt and such, get Underside coated, when I was up North I used Fluid Film. I do not know what is available in Canada, if FF not, there has to be an alternative. Rear fender liners, may be nice also. U can also go to FCA Canada and call them and request a Build Sheet/Equipment Listing for your truck be sent to U. I could not find a FCA Canada web site that had it. FYI: U posted window sticker, not yer build sheet.

I put in my factory break controller myself and it was only hard contorting myself under the dash. I set it with Alphaobd and it works great.
