Hey guys, I just bought another second gen but no its not a driver lol this ones just a parts truck. Its a 1998 Ram 1500 4x4, with a 5.9L/auto trans. Power windows, locks, power and heated mirrors, with the Laramie SLT package. Extended cab with the opening rear doors. I bought it off my shop teacher for $350, it runs and moves but has some blown brake lines and its kinda nasty underneath. It also doesnt have a title which is why im usin it for parts. But I want to take the dashboard top out and put it in my truck, but i was wondering how that dash top comes out..? Do you unbolt the whole dash like you would if you were doin the heater core, or is there a way to take the top off without removing the whole dash? Also, neither of the rear doors will open. You can pull on the handle and the door will move a little at the top, but the bottom seems like its stuck...any ideas how to open it??

Drop steering column, dash besel, instrument cluster, glove box.
With these removed you will see the screws that hold the pad on. The most difficult screws are the ones on top by the windshield. Offset screwdriver will work there, with luck windshield will be out. Thats the way i did it on my 98 when i replaced my top dash. hope this helps

And then it just pops right off? What about behind where the airbag is, is there any screws behind that?

Thinking of your rear door issue...can you pull the interior door panel and access the mechanism...or perhaps pull the handle...mine doesnt have rear doors but just thinking this through...its what id be looking to do...rust and corrosion have probably eaten there way though the latch mechanism.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows the dash piece that everything gets attached too? I have a 2nd gen dodge and I have no dash left except for the lower dash...uploadfromtaptalk1409508469903.jpg
