Hi folks,
My first Dodge was a 1967 Power Wagon 4x4 with a 318 and a 4 speed with a non functioning gas gauge which for a kid in high school meant I ran out of gas a lot but I loved it. Since then I've owned nothing but Cummins powered Dodge's/Rams 92, 01, 03, 04 and 16. I recently sold my 2016 3500 Cummins with the Aisin tranny because it was overkill for our Jayco 25' 5000 lbs trailer and wasn't getting driven much. I bought a 2016 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman 4x4 with the 3.92 gears that has 34,000 miles. The truck is exactly like the 3500 I just sold with regards to the interior and color (white) but the bed is shorter than the 8' I had, 1500 has the 6'4" bed.
This truck drives so much nicer, I actually enjoy driving it. The 3500 is a rough riding SOB compared to this and has a throttle lag due to it's torque management while this one has no lag and drives like a car. I'm putting some airbags on it for the trailer but other than that, just stay up with maintenance on it.
I retired from the Coast Guard after 30 years of working and flying on search and rescue aircraft and now I work from home for a friends software company. My family enjoys camping, dirt bike and mt bike riding and anything outdoors. Our dog loves to go on drives but gets car sick and has yet to throw up in this truck yet so life is truly good.
