2002 3500 with 5.9 gas engine

It is an "Early Model" 2002 w/Max Cooling and since it is classified as a "commercial" HD rig it is loaded with pollution control junk, view of engine does'nt look anything like my buddies 2002 1500 Ram 360 with alll the added junk on mine - will add pics to show what I have

No power to coil. Was told by mechanic that the wire going to coil is broke somewhere along the line. Rather than tear apart the whole wiring harness/loom and cause more problems I think maybe it best to just hook separate wires from coil to where it gets it's juice and bypass existing wire loom.

Can anyone school me on where the power source for the coil where I need to hook to is?

Also, I so far can't find the replacement wires I need. Maybe my "search" terminology is not correct ??

any help or guidance is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

update

I just did some multitester work

Apparently mechanic was possibly wrong about wire being broke (ETA, I got towed home so possibly if it was a broken wire it could have wiggled on the way home and made contact again)

With ingnition turned OFF - NO key in ignition I can get a bit over 12V out of BOTH wires where they connect to coil when I hook the negative on multimeter to negative battery post with ground cable unhooked.

If I hook up ground cable to batt then reading goes to zero. If I use a ground for meter other than the neg batt post with cable unhooked it is zero.

I'm not an electrical guy at all but think with some guidance I should be able to fix it myself.....
