I have a 2011 Big Horn with the basic stereo ( 1 cd and am/fm, satellite and aux) just recently when I crank the truck the stereo comes on but there is no sound and the volume control knob does nothing, it stays like this while driving. when I park and come later and crank it there is sound and the volume control works? Any ideas or should I consider upgrading to an aftermarket stereo? this does not happen every time I crank the truck. just randomly

My issue is similar. Ill randomly have am/fm then i dont but volume control still works with the other functions like Aux. No ryhme or reason to it.

Figure its probably a bad solder somewhere on the board. One of these days ill pull it out and take a peek but until then im fine with aux

I have the exact same problem with my 2011 1500 slt. I can seemingly fix the problem by disconnecting the battery, but only for a moment. I've checked fuses and wiring but cant locate the problem. Was wondering if you've had any luck fixing it or have momentary solutions to the problem.

Every now and again i have that issue. The fix for me is switching from sirius to fm using the control behind the steering wheel, that somehow unfreezes and has worked every time

Could you try changing the input through the button on the screen and then control volume?

Alfaobd....radio diagnostics and rf hub checks. Intigrated center stack, ? The volume is control via canbus. Sadly I think i just made the problem bigger for you

Just had this problem start on my 2011 1500, it's git the alpine stereo, got no function from the volume knob, doesn't even show up when I turn knob. Randomly when I get a phone call it will kick in and put, and sometimes the radio will come on for a second, anyone find a solution for this or gotta upgrade whole unit?
