Here in NV the lemon law requires the vehicle be repaired 4 times for safety related issues or have it in the dealer shop for 30 days in the first year for the law to kick-in. I can't say what Chrysler or the dealer would do before the lemon law kicks-in, but I would guess they aren't very interested in doing a no-cost swap. Anyway, the problems continue...

Now the security system is broken - spent 2 hours at the dealer and they say a module in the driver's side door needs to be replaced and it is on order. The problem is very annoying because every time you open unlock the door it will automatically re-lock within 5 to 15 seconds. This occurs regardless of whether you are in or out of the vehicle, regardless of whether the fob is present or not and the driver's arm-rest lock/unlock buttons are not functional.

Today I'm driving down the road and the bluetooth connection to my cell phone quit working. This is the second time for this and the "fix" is to remove the bluetooth fuse and put it back in again which does make bluetooth work again.

I'm beginning to not like this truck so much.

sierraryder,

Sorry to hear of all your problems.

I am sorry to say it sounds like you got a lemon.

It can happen with anything made now a days, quality and longevity seems to be a thing of the past.

Now a days with the computer software cad/cam they are designing products end of life right into their design before they even build the prototype for the products.

My suggestion since you already know your lemon laws is to still contact a lemon law attorney.( free consultation)

In 1990 I had a problem with another manufactures car, It had metal shavings under the paint of the entire car. and they started to rust 2 weeks after I got the car. After going round and round with the manufacture they finally agreed to repaint the car and give me lifetime I own the car warranty. Then I thought about it before I accepted their offer.
Before carfax days, I thought when I go to trade the car and they will say it was wrecked because it was repainted and I would loose resale value. I declined their offer and hired lemon law attorney.

I wrote " I purchased this lemon at Dealers name" on both side in grease pencil and drove it around town for a few months with the dealers name on it.

My attorney quickly set up an escrow account I only made 1 payment to the manufacture all my other payments were made to the escrow while we fought to get my car replaced under the lemon laws.
This happened right after the lemon laws came to SC.

The manufacture dragged their collect feet to replace the car 3yrs.

I dogged the hell out of that car during that time.

After 3yrs I walked in dropped the keys on the dealership owners desk an told him to stick them where the sun don't shine,he didn't even remember me. I wrote lemon on both side in grease pencil when I parked it in front of his dealership.

MY attorney told manufacture they got their car back at the dealership.

I got all my money from the escrow account, I only paid less than $300.00 to drive that car for 3 yrs.

I took all that money and paid cash for my next car.

Sorry to high jack you thread only trying to relay some help or ideas.

The point is call an attorney!!!!!

I hope it goes your way good luck!!

Thanks DSENT for the advice. I am seriously thinking of doing the attorney thing. I have been waiting for a week now and still no part to fix the security problem. I have to keep the key fob in my hand to open doors because they will automatically re-lock in 1-2 seconds. Today the truck wouldn't recognize my fob and the vehicle wouldn't start. I had to get out, lock the vehicle, then unlock it, get in and then the fob was recognized and I could start it. I just fired off a email to Chrysler Customer Support. We'll see what they have to say.
