Had a terrible experience with RevMax torque converters and suggest you rethink getting a trans built from them before you spend the money & time only to be disappointed. My situation may only be 1 in 100, but its worth mentioning in hopes to help out someone else thinking about going with revmax for their transmission.

I have a 2016 RAM 6.7 with the aisin69 trans that failed on me at 140k miles. I looked all over the web for a built replacement. There were only a few doing a complete replacement for the aisin69; revmax, Randy's and i believe 1 or 2 others. After a brief look over on the websites for the readily available transmission i decided to go with RevMax. Talking with them over the phone they told me they had a built unit on the shelf ready to ship. So i went a head and pulled the trigger and purchased the unit on the website as they suggested. When i followed up a couple days later, they told me the unit they had ready to ship was no longer available and they would have to put one in the production line to be built for me. Frustrated but understanding we chugged along down the path. After a week i called to check on the status of the build and it hadn't made it to the assembly line yet. This went on for about 4 weeks before they could confirm the unit was built and ready to ship. Waiting & waiting for the BOL conformation from them it finally came after about another week. Then the nightmare of the shipping process was about to begin. After about a week waiting to see progress of the unit making its way west to CA, i finally called them to see what the issue was and no movement had been made during shipping. They followed up with a response of "sorry we had the BOL wrong and its sitting at the shipping hub" After getting all that worked out the unit finally showed up to CA 4 weeks later.

Now the install. We got the old unit out and the new unit in, did the relearn process got everything ready for test drive. During the test drive we noticed a hard shift from 1st to 2nd, then smooth shifting all the way through the rest of the gears, then smooth back down unit 2nd to 1st that again was rough and didn't seem right. After a brief discussion with revmax, it seems the transmission would break in and the shifts would get better - well, they didn't. I called tech support to review the issue and of course you cant get anyone on the phone with tech and you have to submit a case file. Not happy with that option, i called and talked with sales and asked they submit the case file and have it pushed through asap. ASAP di not come as soon as possible by no means. At this point i had parked the truck because of the issue and temps that were reaching up in the mid 200 and starting to stink up the cab with a burnt smell. After about a week of hounding revmax to get back to me i finally got someone on the phone. They assured me that nothing was wrong with the transmission and i should start reaching out to my ECM & TCM tuner to see what possibly could be wrong on their end. TCM tune had not been installed yet & the ECM tuner said they had nothing to do with the trans and issues i was having. So this went on for about a week before i trailered the truck to a transmission specialist 3 hours away to have them diagnose the issue. They found the the clutch the be locking up in the 1 to 2, 2 to 1 shifts, debris in the oil pan and the oil burnt. They suggested i send the full report to revmax, which i did and the requested the transmission be sent back to them. The nightmare continues... So, after waiting for revmax to get the unit picked up, and after a couple no show pick ups from the shipping company the unit is on its way back to revmax. After a couple weeks of them kicking the can down the road i finally got a response of " a snap ring on and important park broke loose and we need to flush & rebuild the transmission" F-n GREAT... So i asked the obvious question: what guarantee do i have this wont happen again? They assured me they would replace all the necessary parts involved with the failure and that had never seen anything like this with this particular transmission ever happen. So, whatever, what can i do besides move forward with my fingers crossed.

So after another 5 weeks of the transmission shop that took this unit out and sent back to revmax pushing the truck in & out of the shop by hand hoping the transmission shows up any day finally got the unit back. Once they got the truck up in the air and the unit installed, relearn process initiated and the test drive complete it seemed we were in the clear. While loading the truck onto the trailer to take it back home, we noticed the unit was leaking from the out put shaft. After some back & forth with the trans shop they told me the transfer case would need to be removed and the transmission output seal inspected for damage. Of course after everything they just went through with my truck they had no interest in pulling this truck back into their shop. SO, reluctantly i drove away with the truck still having issues. After taking the truck to a local shop back home, they found out the transmission output shaft seal had been left out or lost - who knows, and at this point who the f cares, just get it replaced an the truck back in action. After about a week of dealing with the local DODGE dealership and all their BS we finally got a seal in the truck and the issue was resolved. Truck drives, shifts etc great at this point - awesome, only took 6 months. So now onto getting reimbursed for the transmission to be pulled out and everything that goes along with it. Now, when you purchase a built unit from revmax you have to sign and initial a laundry list of line items they are not to be held responsible for or will reimburse in an event of failure. So after reading through that list of items i thiught i would never have to deal with, there i was trying to decide what to submit for reimbursement. So after taking a minute to process everything mentally, i sent the invoice for the transmission removal & reinstall after the failure, the fluids associated and the service involve to replace the output shaft seal etc. All in all totaling aronud $2,500. SO now to date, 5 weeks later, no reimbursement check, just an excuse of how it was sent to the wrong address etc... To sum up the experience - TERRIBLE. If i would have known what i know now, i would never have reached out to RevMax. I hope this can help someone make a better decision than i did when looking for a built transmission. I'm sure there are some grammar errors in this message, so please excuse those, and I've never written a bad review for anything or anyone in the past, nor made a post on a forum - but i felt this experience rendered such. Sorry to those at RevMax that truly tried to help, and shame on the ones who did not. Peace out.

Bud, I completely appreciate you position, but in the future, could you kindly break this up into proper grammatical structure as I had to put my glasses on just to digest this.... (and a glass of Kahlua with Vodka ;)).

I promise you that you'll get better feedback from the Crew here if it's easier to digest this run-on sentence.

Anyhow..... and to your point....... appreciated on your customer experience, or lack there of.

Hoping you get it sorted and you're back on the road soon!
