I've said it before, I'll say it again. The tick is normal. Every one of my Hemi's has has a "tick" from new. None of them have failed. It's when the tick turns in to a loud clatter you have to be worried.

Hemi's tick. Sometimes oil gets rid of it, sometimes not. It didn't on mine. I ran Red Line for years, tick remained.
That just "ticks" me off! ;)

Don't let it idle for long period of time. I start mine and wait 30 sec. and drive it lightly until above 150 F. Oil is thicker when cold, harder to lubricate the lifters and cam. I have 109k and cam looked good when tech tore it down. I replaced 8 lifters since I had the head off. I have 332 Idle hours.

I suggest putting a blower on it so you stop hearing all the hemi noises
A buddy of mine had a 1968 Camaro R/S with a 327, very heavily hopped up. He installed a gear drive in place of the timing chain and gears. It sounded wicked with the "Blower" whine coming from those gears. In street form, it would run 12's, with slicks; uncorked and with blue racing fuel, it ran 11.08! To top that off, at RPM (8 grand) it sounded like a big block!

I had 433 Big Block in this thing for awhile that sounded like a screaming small block at 7500 rpm, lol. It ran 10.7's back in the early 80's.

I believe it is CRITICAL to use ONLY the specified Oil types and Viscosities if you want your warranty to be valid. ;)

Truer word were never spoken. Which is why I let the dealer do all the service while it is under warranty. Give the manufacturer zero reason to deny a claim should I have one.

Another reason to have dealer do that sort of service is: Whenever entering the dealer service-network..they perform that 32-point inspection….which, if you read the fine print on many OEM and Extended Warranties…is a REQUIRED 60-month item…. which, if Missed…. will IN-validate your expensive warranty.

Gear drive is noisy I had it on a built Pontiac 455,which had a choice of 5 different heads to change the compression ratio.
