Hello,

I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn and I am thinking about installing the Detroit true trac rear differential, so the question is in the number of splins the rear axle and its size to choose the correct model.

As I understand 31 splins and 9.25” should be right?

The 2011+ Ram rear axles are no longer Chrysler corporate 9.25" 12 bolt they are now ZF 235mm 12 bolt axle. So the DTT WILL NOT drop right in.

Are there any options for the 2013 RAM 1500 rear diff except the factory ZF?

Nothing at this time will drop in.

Now, I don't know how true it is, but I've read on another forum that someone has used pre-2011 axle shafts, gears, and a Detroit TruTrac successfully. From my understanding the new ZF axles have two different length axles which offsets the carrier in the differential, the older style axle have the carrier centered in the differential.

How is possible to figure out which parts (with part numbers) are required to change to the original lsd axle?
