Can anyone tell me which is bank 1 sensor 1? I think I know just need to be sure because I'm old and forget where I am sometimes so could be wrong

Actually replacing the same sensor tomorrow should be drivers side upper sensor before cat.

One way to remember for any V configuration engine, the side with the most forward cylinder is Bank 1. That most forward cylinder is also number 1 cyl.

You never told us the code.?
Check the harness and chassis harness plug. Sometimes the pins get pushed out or the wire breaks inside the wire insulation. You may have to Ohm out the circuit to the PCM to make sure there is not a break. If it is an O2 sensor Heater malfunction code it could also not be recieving power.
But can't really say since you didn't post the code(s).
