Octane rating?

My truck has an issue where it chokes a second on startup on 89 octane summer gas. Doesn't happen in winter. There have been multiple threads on this forum (example below) about this issue. Running 87 octane completely cleared this up for me, so I run it year round.

I used to use 89 but since I installed a pulsar I now put in 91 so I have the option of using the performance (fun) setting!

I use my truck for business purposes so I get to write off fuel which is a sweet bonus.

I run 89 and get about 19-20mpg on city/highway. Tried 87 for a month and truck felt sluggish, less responsive, and mpg was like at 17mpg. Also valvetrain noise seemed to be slightly louder, might of just been my mind.

Have run nothing but 89 in my ‘19. Just hit 2500 miles and runs great, I don’t ever plan on putting in anything less than 89. Just refueled after 423 miles (26 gallon tank) and averaged 17.8mpg on that tank with mostly city and a couple of highway runs.
