Ok, so I know that now that I've put 35's on the truck that my speedometer was going to be off a couple miles per hour, but I was just wondering what it will do to my odometer? My truck calculated gas mileage went off the chart ,and I understand why, but my concern is the actual mileage of the truck! Is there any thing that can correct for the different size tires? I really don't want to spend big money on a tuner , if I could just reset my factory ECU.

Need to find someone with a HPtuner........you can change gear ratio & or tire size with no license required.

Last time I had a dealer reset my odometer for tire size they could only get it close because they were limited to certain tire sizes in their computer. They just matched to the size closest in diameter. The aftermarket ones you could be more exact including setting the revs per mile instead of tire size. That said, a lot of dealers put in lifts and install bigger tires on the lot so they may keep a secondary programmer that is non oem for doing work on non fca vehicles and for dealer installed aftermarket modifications.

FYI, the odometer will show less miles than the truck actually has with a larger tire, just saying.

That's true, but it also throws the shift points out so performance wise it's better calibrated.

Old thread but right topic for me.

So a bigger tire will show less miles and worse mpg, correct??

A larger diameter tire will travel further with each revolution:
Your vehicle will show speed and MPG less than actual, and overall gearing will be higher.
