OEM Transmission Filter

I received a new OEM HP8 transmission filter without a drainplug. Did the drainplug get "improved away" or did I get a knockoff without the plug?

Improved away I guess. My original pan/filter had a plug and the OEM I used when doing the transmission service does not. Eliminates the possibility to do a drain and refill which is something I would like to be able to do. I guess next time I will replace with an aluminum aftermarket pan.

Yeah I heard the updated version is plugless.
