Just as the title states, anyone runnning offset rims on a lowered 4th gen. theres a decent deal on a set of GT Raid 33x12.5x24 with -44 offset. would look good on a lowered truck. just wondering how much rubbing, and i could get away with some minimal trimming.

Looking @ customoffset.com for similar set ups:

3" lift: no rubbing
Leveled: rubs but doesn't need trimmed.
Stock height: required plastic trimming.
Didn't see anyone lowered but seems like there would be plastic trimming at the least, possibly (probably) require at least folding over the hem seam.

I agree,

Trimming with lifted, means major issues with lowering. The -44 is going to be the challenge. I'm lowered 4 in front 6 in rear and 0 offsets will rub in the front in certain situations.

appreciate this insight, i'll focus my efforts on rims with zero offset or more. As I understand it stock is +19 offset.

You could just lift the truck, run whatever wheel you want and look 100 times better

He's in Alberta where everybody and their dog has a lifted truck,a lowered truck is differant here, and usually gets more comments then a lifted truck does. I've been at the local gas stations with buddies who have lifted trucks, and my little lowered 4X4 got way more attention and comments then their lifted 4X4's ever did, plus the girls seem to like the lowered trucks more. ;). Girls opinions and likes mean more to me then any guys opinion does ,a pretty girl who likes my truck,is gonna get my attention way more then some guys opinion will :Big Laugh: I don't build toys to pick up guys,i build toys that'll pick up girls :Big Laugh:

That right there should tell you all you need to know, sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason

I say go with your gut feelings, my trucks dropped, but my Jeep's at stock which is lifted slightly from the factory. No idea what the offset on my wheels are, it came with them.
I live in the south, so everybody and their brothers trucks are lifted also, not many lowered in comparison.

95% of them never go offroad, the majority of them are pavement princesses, with a bunch of 4X4's built for Sema, that go from a trailer to a shop
People are sheep when it comes to lifted trucks up here,as nobody has their own opinion, they do as everybody else does, and the guy that dares to think for himself,is gonna get more attention from the girls:Big Laugh:
BTW lifted trucks look stupid in my opinion:waytogo: :Big Laugh:

they can, when done wrong

the funny thing is, they can look good when done right

lowered truck always look like crap
(i was going to use a word that means the opposite of advanced timing, but you know how sensitive this forum is)

i can honestly say i have never, ever, in my life seen a single lowered truck that looked better than it did stock

There isn't a good looking lifted truck :Big Laugh:
My little 4X4 got nothing but comments, and looks better then any lifted 4X4:Big Laugh::cheers:
It also gave 717 horse Hellcats fits at the track,it'd take them through the 1/8th,and if they weren't on the ball would go through the lights ahead of them;) If you're gonna have a pavement princess it might as well be a sleeper :waytogo:

Winning at an 1/8 mile track is kinda like winning at the special Olympics isn't it ?

I currently own both. A Warlock crew cab with 35s and an RCSB RT lowered 4/6. I rather drive the RT, but snow and ice for 6 months out of the year necessitates the lifted.

I get way more positive comments on my RT.

Feel free to post up some pictures, who knows, maybe your the first one who figured out how to make it looks good ..but I won't hold my breath

I normally don't go out of my way with these threads, but the OP is trying to make something work that simply won't work for a reason, it ain't supposed to work

And then the solution is just so simple

Oh well

Simplest solution for the OP would be to not use the rims he was looking at,that would be his best option, instead of lifting it,and having nothing but issues that comes from lifting a 1500 ;) If he's buying rims,he might as well buy ones that'd work for his application. The trucks already lowered,so why spend a bunch of money lifting it,and still having to buy rims and tires on top of the expense of what the lift would cost him in Canada, your way would more then double or triple his expenses, and money doesn't grow on trees;)

Alot of tracks have dropped back to 1/8th mile these days.We have 1 legit track that's still a full 1/4,and one that runs both 1/8th and a 1/4 depending on what they have on the schedule, and 3 that are strictly 1/8th,plus 5 airport tracks that are 1/8th.So 1/8th mile tracks are alot more common then you think, even south of the border, but then again you don't race,so i can see your lack of knowledge and confusion:Big Laugh:

It's been a few years since I went down a track (1/4 mile of course)

Only one I know off, track that is, near me
