Yup!! AutoZone says its a transmission control solenoid, but the whole thing will have to be scanned. This happen to anyone? 2008 Ram 1500, 5.7, 91k miles.

Check your transflid level test battery/alternator and have someone with a good scanner scan it.

Wallet taking a hit. Valve solenoid body went **** up. That plus 2 transmission filters, fluid and reprogramming? Normal for 91k miles? Not especially happy.

Why are you not happy it lasted for 14 years in high temp trans fluid, electronic parts don't last for ever, it would be nice if they did...

Don't think of it as a problem, think of it as an opportunity..... for someone to get in there and half a*s*s the job providing you years of dissatisfaction!
That silver lining is always there. Just have to find it :)

Thus why we need to save The Stick ! Manual transmissions have way less problems and require way less maint !

Save the Stick, Ditch the Auto !

With only 91,000 miles he should be irritated, number of years is not relevant, number of miles is !

I will never understand why pickup drivers would want automatics, with exceptions of health reasons which I can understand, and maybe the wife who can't drive a stick.

I feel for you mate. In my life I have found once a mechanic touches your car/truck your fecked. Owned many cars, rarely let a garage do my oil or anything else never a problem. Garage does alignment or air conditioning then I start having problems.
91k and your having issues, I understand how you feel. Invest in an OBDII bluetooth reader and get yourself some software. probly best thing you could do

Be glad it is not the Alison Trans, My son had one in his 2006 2500 and it was constantly having solenoid issues after the first time they opened it up. Seemed like every 25k it had to be replaced with filter and fluid changes..

I had the same issue at about the same mileage on my 2011. Replaced the whole valve body, which included the solenoids. Didn't want to mess with it again. Wasn't much price difference vs changing 1 pack when you count in trans fluid/labour etc.
