While laying under my truck 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi 2 wheel drive yesterday I noticed oil drip coming off my electric power steering unit where would the possible cause of this come from where should I start looking first it just hit 47000 miles?

Is it right below the oil filter?
On my 4X4 the steering sits right below the oil filter, needless to say it gets some oil on it with every oil change.

If you got oil changed recently, it's probably from them removing the filter like Paco said. I still spill some oil when doing a change. If you're crawling back under, double check that the filter is tight and give everything a wipe down. If there's oil there again and a few days, you gotta do some more looking.

As long as the area is not soaked or you see oil shooting out you are probably fine.
