looking to get some paint on my rusty oil pan before i find myself needing to replace it in the future.im thinking of just hitting it with a wire brush and shooting a couple coats on it.has anyone done this before and if so does this sound like the right way to go about it and if so can you reccomend a good paint to use.i checked old threads for a while but came up empty.i have a 2004 5.7 2wd and heard the motor had to get lifted to change the pan.doable but if i can prevent having to by being proactive seems to be the smart thing to do.thanx in adv.

Surface rust or is it got flakes already? Surface rust go for it. If it's flaky, I'd go with POR15 to extend it's life a bit.

POR15 is an awesome base, just be sure you put a topcoat on it.
