Anyone try the "new" wash method?

Foam canon, dwell, rinse... Foam AGAIN, dwell, second rinse/actually pressure wash carefully...

Then grit guard in the soap bucket (just in case).

I've done it 6 times, now, and every time I've poured out the water at the end, it's been clean. I do typically use a bug spray prior to the first foam, but that's it. No other pretreat.

I saw a couple of YouTube channels talking about this, now that foams have developed more. You can use higher pH soaps to do even more work during the foam stage, but they could potentially cause coatings/protection to wear a bit faster.

I have not, I am sure my method is rudimentary, but seems effective for me.
Rockers / wheels/tires/bumpers done with one bucket of soap and sponge
All other surfaces done with a brush with long handle. Always use quality soap (of your choice)
Follow up with any sort of quick detailer to remove water spots.

just worked on mine last night but it will look funny for awhile till i get the whole thing done...lol. replacing my broken passenger side tow mirror and been wanting to clay, buff and wax the truck for awhile so decided to do the hood, passenger front fender and passenger front door last night while the mirror was off to make it easier. rest of the truck is still dirty...lol. was in the garage till midnight. gonna do the drivers side tonight.
i have a foam cannon but haven't used it for awhile but it does work great. i also bought one of the bucket 'strainers' that keep your sponges from sitting on the bottom of the bucket.
Guess thats what you were referring to as a grit guard?

I bought a pressure washer for vehicles from Sears, that was years & years ago, before 2015.
It has settings for vehicles & side walks.

Just after i bought it, the city proclaimed a rule about use of water.
If your water is running down the street, you get a Ticket.

I do not remember ever putting water through it.
I was going to wash the covered walkway into the VFW in the next town, the maintenance man said that he was going to do it, it was his job.
So i never took it out of my truck, by the way, he never did it that month.

That is how I do it on none Ceramic or Coated Vehicles. It’s all in one bucket. Foam dwell, rinse, foam wash, rinse, foam, clay mitt, rinse, dry. The two bucket is for coated cars is as follows. PH neutral soap safe for coatings. Fill that to the top the other one is half a bucket of clean water. Both have grit guards. Your soap bucket needs the grit guard that stands up to run the mitt over when you clean it as you are washing it. Spray as much rain, dust, grime off. With your mitt in the soap bucket 1-2 panels at a time depending on size and how dirty it is. Then dunk it in your clean water ring it out really good. Back into the soap where you scrub it on both sides against the grit guard that stands up. Then go again. No clay is ever needed here. Foam cannon is rarely needed unless it’s just really really bad.

Two bucket wash has been dead for a while amongst detailing - good pre-soak/foaming and allowing grime to be dissolved, rinse, and then go into contact wash in one bucket is harmless - coated or non coated - do a good job in your pre-contact wash phase by using a good soap that allows dwell time and breaking down of contamination so that you have the majority of dirt and grime removed when you go over with your mitt-
