Ordering a 2018?

Hi all,

I might be in need of a RAM in a few months, but the trim/options I'd like seem to be, well, a bit exotic. So does anyone know if you can still order 2018s even though the 2019s are out? Just by judging the build price there's an easy 12k difference for nearly identical builds, and TBH I don't want to beta-test a Gen5 from the first year.

How long does it ususally take from order to delivery, btw?

If 19's are comin down the line, no way you can order an 18 ... Best option is to have the dealer locate a vehicle closest to what you want, and have em bring it in for you

That's what I feared, too. But you can still configure 18s on Ram's website, along with 19s.

Their website hasn't been updated ... Imagine that ... They can change over an entire assembly line, but the geek squad in IT can't keep up ... Amazing

The 2019s are being built at an entirely different plant than the 2018s. I don't see why they would stop the ability to order a 2018. I'd check with the dealer to be sure.

Ram is still building 4th gens as a “classic” model. I don’t know what the heck year model they are calling it now though.

can I ask what dealer you work at? You are somewhat local and have been asking around to see if any dealers have stock black rims...

Seems like you stated this in the 4th post of the thread ... Lol ... Vertical typing should do it, but there will be a couple more that insist 18's are comin down the line, when 19's are sittin on the lot ... Yeesh

FCA said they are producing the 2018 till the end of the model year at the Warren, Michigan and Saltillo, Mexico plants. While simultaneously producing the 2019 at the Sterling Heights plant.
