yep. dead as a doornail. they're still building 2018's, but that is for the trucks that were already ordered up until close to the end of May. so like, dealers would order for stock or specific builds that customers ordered, building takes typically 2mths after ordered (sometimes quicker, sometimes slower) before ready to ship from factory to dealer. at least up here in Canada.
I've been trying to locate a specific optioned long bed crew sport from dealer inventory, or built trucks 'in transit' for well over a month and come close but had no luck. I've had 3 dealers search province wide and get 95% of the options I want but when the truck doesn't have the 3.92 gears, or not in my top 4 colour choices, it's out.
I went through this last year as well searching for a 17 optioned the same but started scouring way too late. I thought I'd start earlier this time but inventory moves far too fast for such an oddly optioned build like I'm looking for. I've even contacted Ram Canada and they suggested 2 dealers that had similar but not exact. failing that, Ram Canada suggested opening up my search searching online nationally myself and see if a dealer would be willing to ship out of province to a dealer in my area. if I found the truck and the dealer wasn't receptive to helping me... to contact them again and they would contact the dealer that had the truck. I feel like I'd be really overstepping doing such a thing.. but that's what they told me.
