I've done a lot of research about the Outside Temp displayed in the overhead console. Mine was reading all over the place (like 60 - 70 degree swings over a couple minutes). I've replaced the sensor (twice!) and had the dealer verify the ECM isn't missing any updates based on a TSB that I found (it is current). The stupid temp is still 20-30 degrees low (but it isn't doing the wild swings like it was).
The sensors I installed are Duralast. Should I buy a genuine Mopar one? If yes, anyone have a part number? I'm not having any luck finding one online. Truck in question is my '06 3500 with 5.9 Cummins.
It is stupid this trivial little thing is bugging me but it seems like this should be a simple fix! The wiring harness looks fine and I used some dielectric grease when I installed the Ambient Air Temp sensors.
