My stock tires are showing a good amount of wear and I'd like to upgrade to 35s when I get new tires. Anyone know what the overall height ends up with a jump in tire size? I'm lucky enough that my truck fits in the garage which is a standard 7' door, so ideally I'd like that to continue. If my napkin math is right it should only gain about an inch overall?

Not a powerwagon but my truck 2500 with thuren 3" springs in the front and icon 2" rear springs and my old 295 70 18 tires measured 6' 11". Used a 4 foot level across the back of the roof. It gets parked in the pole shed. We also have 7' doors on our attached garage but I've never tried getting it in.

Good thought on the 4' level. I was going to try to measure with the truck halfway in the garage sometime but that sounds a lot easier. The shark fin antenna is my high point, I'm within a couple inches from what I can see from the driver's side.

It helps to have 2 people if you do the level like I did. Most 35's usually measure out to be 33.5"-34" once on the truck. Which you may already know, but might help with the math if you didn't.

I have a 7 ft door and my power wagon fit with about 2-3” to spare. Mine sat on 35’s and had Thuren front level kit and 1” block in rear. You should be fine

For reference. I have a 2500 tradesman on 285/75r18 toyos. Close to a true 35. No lift and my antenna hits the 7’ parking garage thingy above. Any taller and would hit. Being a wagon is about 2” taller, will be very close.

A lot depends on the slant/setup of the driveway, as well as how the trim/jam is setup on the door. And just because you have a “7’ door” dosnt always mean you have a full 7’ of clearance.

My wagon has 1.5” up front and 35’s. I can fit in my parents garage which is a 7’ door, but i couldnt fit under the 7’ door in my rental house.

It should fit, but will certainly be close if it does.

But just keep in mind, if you measure the height of the truck on flat/level ground and it is less than the door opening, it may still not fit.

I would pull the truck half way in the garage and stop when it is closest to rubbing, then measure what you have left. If there is anything over an inch and a half of room, you should be good with adding 35’s.

My old office's parking garage was like 6'-9" or something, google said I should have about an inch clearance based on the listed height of the truck. I could clear one of the crossbars but clipped the one at the other entrance, so I had to stay to one end of the parking garage. It was still really tight everywhere though.

Great info, thanks. The header or trim above my garage is sagging a bit so I've lost a fraction of an inch I'm sure. Sounds like with stock suspension and 35s I should be ok.

From 285/70R17s to 315/70 R17s, my front and back diff measurements to the ground went up just over 3/4".

On paper you should gain around 1" of height. Just keep in mind that different brands and styles of tires have different true heights, so that could change a little. The best thing to do is check your existing clearance. Pull the truck into the garage and see where the closest point is (as you said, probably the little shark fin) and see how much clearance you have. I would say you would want at least 1.5" of current clearance and that would still be tight.

A lot of that depends on what the tires are aired up to. But yes…going from a roughly “33” to a roughly “35” will only gain you an inch-ish of ground clearance.

2017 2500 with a 2.5" spring lift and 295/70/18's and I'm sitting right at 6'9" ish, only thing that hits is the plow light when I forget to take it off before pulling in

Before you shoehorn it into the garage, make sure you are taking in to account cab lights or siriusxm antenna. Can't tell you how many yahoo at work take a work truck in the parking structure and tear off the shark fin
