Overhead Counsel lights

I bought my 2024 Ram Built to Serve Ram last year. When I bought the truck the overhead counsel had the driver side courtesy light out. These were LED lights. I showed the salesmen and they said they will fix it. I scheduled a visit to the dealer to get it fixed. When I picked up the truck the lights were not LED they were orange lights . The dome lights are led. It makes the truck look crappy. Called the dealer and they say those are the lights that came with the truck and that the original owner changed the original lights to LED. Why would someone replace the lights in a brand new truck. My question to the Forum what lights are correct? the truck still is under warranty I only have 30500 miles on it.

A lot of the interior lights on vehicles haven't changed to LEDs, I've swapped several interior lights to LEDs in brand new vehicles for more light.
If the interior light has a user replaceable bulb then it was an incandescent bulb from the factory.

FYI If you replace the bulbs to LED make sure they are CANBUS rated!
And You Tube has videos on how to remove the covers and replace the bulbs !

thanks for the welcome. I may not be articulating this the right way. The research I have done says that these came from the factory as LED. The overhead counsel is replaced as a whole unit and cost about $400 after market. The salesman even said that they the whole unit gets replaced. My opinion is that they replaced the unit with a subpar unit.

Updating bulbs to LED is infinitely easier than dealing with most dealership warranty BS.

I would say you're lucky to have the option to be able to change incandescent bulbs to LED.

There are many YouTube videos on this subject and with smart purchases, a very minimal cost.

Amazon has lots of great deals on LED bulbs.

Try using the search utility in the upper-right with console LED upgrade or interior LED bulbs.

I've changed exterior lighting on my truck to LED and very happy with the results.

Watch videos and see how to lower console if U have to. If you have the console where U push the plastic to turn on the light, a lot easier. Otherwise dropping console, besides 2 screws in eyeglass holder, and outer tabs all around, there are also (2) interior tabs in the center. When I did mine, was unaware and I BROKE both of those tabs. So make sure U educate yerself immensely before you pull console. There is also only so much wiring length also to attached points.

I thought you were able to change the bulbs only like on my 2015 !
I forgot that the newer RAMS had LED Panel lights !
When you do find a replacement Please post the link on what you got!

Have you looked on E Bay or Amazon for aftermarket LED Panels ?

Can you post a picture of your console ?

For the OEM LED overhead lights the whole assembly needs to be replaced, where as incandescent bulbs can be individually changed. The dealership service would have looked up the part number by the VIN of your truck. That's the most logical explanation why the lights changed.
If this was a warranty repair, the dealership is only bound to replace with original parts.
If you had to pay to have it replaced then the removed part should have to be returned to you(this is the law in moat states).

My interior light are Lasfit and Auxito And have good luck with them

The map light bulbs are a royal PIA to change ! There are videos on You Tube showing some tricks that help !
Looking forward to seeing a pic of your console to see what you do have !
