I have had this P0219A fault code the last 4 trips I made pulling a 28ft TT with the tow/haul switch turned on. It will go out after two drive cycles with the switch turned off. Had it at the dealer twice and they said they could not trouble shoot it when the check engine light is out. I am driving a 2019 Ram Sport HD2500 with the 6.4 and 8 sp trans. Has anyone else ever had this fault and if so what fixed it.

Yes, they’d be able to pull a record of that code with their scan tool.

I second the suggestion of a different dealer, the code is there.

It's an A/F ratio imbalance in Bank one, 02 sensor giving false readings (lean). a good tune will fix that.

Thanks for your input, The dealer can see the last two events but since the fault isn't current they can't find anything out of limits. Just test driving it for 3miles will not latch a fault. I guess they don't have a tech who can compare the data from the two faults and when the PCM has the engine trimmed to ECO mode. They say the data saved now in the PCM is protietory and can not give me all that data. I have the trouble shooting procedure for that fault code but not the factory scanner to trouble shoot with.

There is only two dodge dealers in Tucson. I would have to go to Phoenix and spend the day there.

They will not give me the contact info for a factory service rep. It is for their use only they tell me.

Ramcares? They seem to help some people motivate their service center.

Just got off the Phone with them and she said that the report will be sent up to management. We'll see what happens next.

Check your MAF sensor. It doesn’t bolt in; it’s a 90degree twist lock. I’ve had mine come loose before and partially twist and it throws the code.

I will check it just to be sure. I don't know why it would latch the code only when tow/haul switch is turned on.

Not sure if mine threw that exact code but my CEL came on about 700 miles into towing a 5k lb travel trailer on a 1000mi trip. It drove fine. Was still under warranty and dealer said it was an evap leak. I put 17k mi on it prior. Didn't tow up to that point and had no issues. 17.5k mi towing and the CEL came on. The fix was an ECM update. Wish I had more for you, but I traded it for a Cummins while it was in service for that issue.

I posted this exact same issue a few weeks ago. I was towing a 32' travel trailer between Wickenburg and Colorado. Check engine light came on the second day. Had a NAPA shop check it. Local dealer was backed up for 10 days. Light went out after a couple of days while not towing at our destination. It didn't come back on going home. Dealer said he thought there would be a software update in the future.
