I replaced the sensor, but still having a problem where the truck will turn over, it acts as if it's trying to crank but doesn't, then all the sudden it'll crank and it runs fine.
I was looking on YouTube and it seemed the best way to test was to measure voltage. I measured 6 volts with the keys out. From what I could tell this indicates there is an issue in one of the sensors. When I took the crankshaft sensor plug out, I stopped getting voltage. Then I plugged it back in and I still did not get voltage. I think that is good.
Then I started the truck again, and it started fine, but then ran it for a while and it did it again. I checked and I got voltage again on my camshaft sensor, and other sensors. I unplugged the crankshaft sensor again and this time I tested and I'm not getting ground at that sensor plug.
I get a good ground at all. The other sensors except this one, the crankshaft sensor. I have no idea what to do from here, but I think I should get a Good ground reading. Can anyone give me insight?
I'm not a mechanic, but I have dumped a lot of money into this truck already trying to get it fixed. I've taken it to two mechanics and all they do is replace the lifters. I'm tired of paying for lifters. I don't think it's lifters.
