Paint crack and peel

Anyone seen this before? It's raised along the cracks and obviously a big chunk peeled. It right on the hood.

There has been ongoing problems with a large number of truck coming out of that facility with paint problems. It has been a problem for the past few years. Some will look great and some look like ****. If the paint damage is not "owner error" you can take it to the dealer and see what they say--they will probably take some pictures and then send them into the factory and try to get approval to repair the paint.

How do you know which plant it was made at?

I have the window sticker and build sheet which indicate plant. I have to schedule the warranty service for the cruise control. Hoping to get hood assessed at same time. The paint work under the hood is horrid. Runs, bumps, etc... I can't imagine it being owner error. No dent or damage to metal, just cracking and peeling paint. Here's hoping for a reasonable effort from my dealer. My uncle's 2017 needed a new hood too. Whole thing peeled and aluminum corroded.

It's sort of a crap shoot--some trucks look just fine, others------not so much. Rumor was that they were going to re-do the paint facility at the Warren plant but from what people report they still have problems. The employees that do their QC work must be visually impaired.

Update....

Summit dodge got the warranty approval with no hassles to repaint the hood. As I suspected paint prep and quality issue.

Also taking care of a couple other small items. Great service!
