I decided to pull the trigger on some Bushwacker Pocket Style flares. For those of you with painted ones, did you get them painted before or after you installed them?

Painting flares

I have been an automotive painter for 28 years, have the flares pained before you install. Do not paint the plastic edge guard off though. Prep the flare for paint with soap and water with a gray scotchbrite. Then install edge guard. This is if you dont want the edging to be black. Good luck

Trucks are supposed to get dirty, lol. Mine looks like crap right now with all the ice, snow, and salt crap on it.

wheel spacers on the rear of your truck would look good, bring the rims out a bit to match the fronts offset out from the fenders.

Truck looks wicked though!!

Would like these on my 2011.
How much & where is the best place to get them? Can these be ordered in a factory color, or have to have it done at a local paint shop?

I got mine from autoanything. Price was $375, but I had to call to get that. If you call them, they'll usually give you 10% off, sometimes more.

They come black, and I had mine painted locally. I got them painted for next to nothing because I know a guy, but I was getting quotes from $250 to $350 from the local shops.

Installation is pretty easy just kind of a pain.

Those are sharp. I think I am going to color match mine when I get to that bridge.

Nice contemplating if I want to install the Bushwackers I have in my garage or not.

I say do it! Think it would look good on your truck.

I played with the idea for a long time. Probably over a year. The other day, I was driving, and it had just rained. I saw the water and mud flying up the side of my truck and that did it for me. I had seen it every single time it has rained here, but it never hit me just the way it did that night. I ordered them that night.

The next dilemma was whether or not to paint them. I looked at some pictures on here and when my buddy said he'd do it for next to nothing, everything fell into place.
