Like I tell my customers that ***** about the price, I didn't make the part, I didn't box the part, I didn't price the part.

Eh, can kinda see your point.

At the same time. You're the seller, the representative of the products/parts you're selling. It's your face the customer sees. I wouldn't sell things that I don't believe in for that sole purpose. It would be like me working at a Ford dealership.

They're putting the money in your hands, not mopar. Expect to take some heat for that.

it's not just rams.i took my fx4 in to an oil change place and they had to remove the front skidplate to get at the oil filter, and they said i was missing 3 bolts.ford wanted 7 bucks per bolt.i never did replace them.i think the oil guys stripped them, but couldn't prove it.

I would think that the bumper material would yield well before a grade 5 bolt would give in shear or tension during a collision. And a collision hard enough to shear a grade 5 bolt would likely make his entire argument moot. Having said that, I tend to buy grade 8 bolts for everything on my vehicles. the money I wasted is made up in the satisfaction of allaying my ridiculously over bearing paranoia. And to be fair, our trucks are metric so the argument should really be 8.8 vs 12.9 bolts....

I ran into this a couple of times with Ford hardware, if the dealer did not stock the common hardware, many times you had to buy it in lots of 10 each whether or not you needed that much quantity.

Yes, I have bought bolts from autozone to mount my bumper. Around $30 for 6 bolts and nuts. Three for each mount.

Its a stock ass bumper. Don't waste money on grade 8. Grade 5 will hold that on forever. It's not structural. Its just a tin bumper.

Yes and no. Bumper is not tin. Weighs in at around 100lbs.
