..at the dealership? I sold my iron cross bumper and got the stock bumper to put back on but I don't have any of the nuts and bolts. The dealership wants to charge me 200 bucks for them!! Anybody ever just gone to local hardware store and get their own? They said each bolt is 7 bucks lol **** that.

Ouch that's a complete ripoff. I wouldn't see anything wrong with using some good quality bolts from your hardware store.

Damn. And here i am looking at 6 different racks of bolts deciding which ones to take home for my tow hooks. Check the grade on whatever you buy and use the proper hardware with it you should be fine. I have 4 M12x40s holding my rear steel bumper on and ive pulled off the bumper with it.

Where could I find the sizes I need to put the bumper on? A website with a diagram maybe? They don't even sell a package they wanna charge me each bolt and nut separately no thanks.

You are missing the brackets that the fog lights mount to. They have studs on the back that take an M12x1.75 nut.

I looked at a bracket set I have on the shelf, I work at a dealer, the studs for the frame mount are retained with clips and the bottom of the bracket has U clip nuts.
The nuts for the frame mounting are the M12x1.75. The top bolts are M10x1.50x28.00 with nuts. The bottom bolts are M10x1.50x35.00.

To be fair, OEM hardware is not exactly the same as loose hardware picked up at Lowes or another hardware store. Grade strength maybe the same but the OEM stuff is a little different with flange head bolts that do not require a washer and most with taper threads on the stud for ease of assembly at the factory.

Add about about three or more layers of distribution and small quantity sale, they are not gonna make the light bill at the dealership selling it at pennies per bolt.

Still though, you can get by fine with hardware store stuff in most cases and would be where I would go especially for hidden hardware.

Its a stock ass bumper. Don't waste money on grade 8. Grade 5 will hold that on forever. It's not structural. Its just a tin bumper.

If you want it stock-looking, maybe you could scrounge all the fasteners from a busted up truck at the wrecking yard.

Nothing to do with holding, more like making sure it's attached properly during a accident. That's my thinking.

and it's not like Grade 8 bolts are million doallars.

yes. Grade 8 would be a waste.

Ive always been an underestimator when it comes to strength. Even for something as light as the oem bumper. If you question it. Make it beefier.

Whichever grade you decide on will work out fine, but whatever you do please don't let the dealership **** you that badly. It will make me sad.

Off topic, we had to replace bolts for the tank every now and then.. One of the same bolts you could buy at carr hardware would run about $30 each through the government. Now imagine what screwdrivers, shovels, bulbs, etc... would cost.

Dealerships are only good for warranty work, and usually fail at that too.
