Not to create a divide, just wondering which one to go with, based on options, performance, reliability, cost and practicality? 2021 Ram Classic 5.7L Hemi, 8 speed trans.

Thanks in advance.

I like my Pedal Commander, it does what they say it does and I have never had a problem with it in 3.5 years. There are some members who have reported codes as a result of the PC, but the majority seem to be trouble-free. You can contact one of our Preferred Vendors for a good price. https://www.ramforum.com/threads/pedal-commander-now-with-bluetooth-at-got-exhaust.117271/

I have no experience with the Pedal Monster.

Don't worry about creating a divide, there's inevitably one created in two out of every three posts these days... :happy175:

I have PC as well, no issues to report. Really like it. Keeping it at City +4. Mine is a bluetooth one, but I've never felt a reason to control it with a phone.
No experience with other ones.

Pedal commander works on voltage supplied from the pedal sensor. That's not good and can throw codes, and also leave you with no gas pedal. Pedal monster uses obd2 port for voltage, which is much higher than the pedal sensor. If the pedal monster has an error or senses something wrong, it reverts to the stock pedal. It's a far better design because it uses a better/stable power source and has a fail safe mechanism.

Both are great products. We have sold a TON of Pedal Commanders. That gets my vote due to just so many of them being out there with positive feedback. At the same time I wouldn't hesitate to run the Banks Pedal Monster either. We have a few customers running it with great results as well. Let me know if we can help you with either one.

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple. Under most circumstances there is probably no difference, but if you're putting your wife/kids/family in these things and you want to risk unintended acceleration or 0 acceleration, well. I pick the safe design, not the design that works until it doesn't.

This is a video from Banks, so obviously they are biased, but if what they are claiming is true you should think long and hard about some of those cheap options.

Do you or have you owned either one? I would like to hear your personal experiences.

I have had the Pedal Commander for years in my personal vehicles with NO issues. The Pedal Commander is not a cheap option either, it is not one of those ebay ones. I agree the Banks one using another source of power and the fail safe is a safer option overall but at the same time with the amount we have sold with very little failure rate I can confidently say that PC is a good product. Also for the ones that have failed there was no unintended acceleration. Truck simply threw a CEL which usually was the case at start up. Customer removed device and all was good again. Device gets exchanged for a new one and all is good after install. Failure is extremely rare with PC but as will any electronic device is expected in a small percentage.

This post makes it sound like you have both in stock Nick,if so why haven't you did a comparision test between the 2,i'm sure lots of guys would be interested in a unbiased comparision between them.

Yes I just purchased the pedal monster, I had been on the fence for months and was ready to go for the sprint booster but that banks video above really convinced me to go with the pedal monster instead.

The banks has more features too, it disables itself on reverse (currently not supported on Ram 1500 but apparently in the works), and you can trim out the throttle on low speeds etc. Just seems to be a much better and well engineered device.

And, it's made entirely in the USA (including the manufacture of the circuit boards).

I've only had mine for a week or so, works as advertised. Sort of transformed my truck (as would any device like this). I bought the standalone edition, pairs up via bluetooth to my android phone, works slick that way. Because it uses the OBD2 port, it knows when the truck is in motion and will prevent you from making changes to the settings while driving. They were forced to do that in order to get it approved in the various app stores, not sure if the other versions (which work with the banks gauges) have that limitation or not.

One constructive criticism I have for it is that the OBD2 cable plugs in the wrong way for our trucks. The cable ends up pointing towards our feet instead of the firewall, which means I'll probably always see a little bit of the cable sticking out from under the bottom of the dash. Small price to pay, there might even be adapter plugs that switch the direction of the cable around.

The trucks obd adapter just pops out of the bracket it's in,and then you can face it pretty well anyway you want.

Thank you for sharing your experience with it. We always love to hear what end users think of products whether it be good or bad so we can keep track of how things are working out. One thought is to get an OBDII splitter. Then you can plug in the pedal monster and still have an open port for inspection time and for any other tuners or add on devices.

I've been contemplating a pedal response product for a while now, appreciate to hear the feedback from those that have used the products.

I have the amp power steps currently occupying my OBD port, so I'd have to also get an adaptor to run the Banks version. Just something additional to consider.

I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about or what I am missing out on. I am 58 years old and have driven just about every type of vehicle with all different engine sizes and transmissions. Cars from the 70's until my latest 2500 2018 6.4 Hemi. My latest truck and my one before 2017 1500 5.7 Hemi did not seem to be lacking any power or lack of pedal response. I know everyone has their preferences and loves doing their mods but I am just not seeing it. If I ever thought extra power was needed I have played with the tow/haul a bit and that definitely spices things up. Also just shifting the 6 speed on its own. Just not sure what these items actually do? I guess if you are racing around town?? I drive over 25k miles a year and have a feeling anyone of these items is just going to get me a ticket and nothing else
