Why can't I find this on the shelves to buy anywhere? I know I can order it and I have, but whats up? Its been out a few years. Does anyone use the regular Platinum? Easier to find.

Many people use Pennzoil Platinum (PP) but I personally run Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (PUP). PUP is Pennzoil's tier 1 oil. Availability is always an issue, online is your best option. If you're interested in running PUP 0w40 you can get it at any Ram dealership.

What gets me is if you go to Pennzoil s website for the 5.7 they recommend PUP 1st, 2nd choice is Pennzoil gold, alternative is PP. It just ****** me off that if FCA is basically wanting to require that you use Pennzoil, and Pennzoil even recommends PUP as their first choice, THEN PUT THE **** ON THE SHELF. I've never been a fan of Pennzoil in the first place but this even makes it worse. If PUP would have been on the shelf I would have given it a shot, tried PP and didn't like it at all in either my 5.7 or the wife's 3.6.

I ran PP 5w20 in my 2013 5.7 and hated it; had more engine noise on that oil than any other oil used.

I have 3 ram dealers within 20 miles of where I live, non of the 3 stock or can get any PUP other than 0/40. If you take you're 5.7 in and want a synthetic oil change what you get is a store brand synthetic. What was funny is I was talking to the parts guy at the one I deliver to and told him I was using redline and he started laughing saying oh, oh that's a $100 oil change. I said so if I was to bring my truck in and have you change the oil with a store brand synthetic how much would it be. He kinda stubbled around and finally said we'll probably $115/$120. I said so what's you're point.

Just to chime in: I have PUP 5W-30 added to dash buttons for over 6 months. It has been available the whole time & has been around $24 for the 5 qt jug for over a month.
Great price for a very stout oil.

I use it in the daughters 3.5L Edge.
PP 5W-30 D1G2 goes in the wife’s Edge Ecoboost.

Yup we are a Pennzoil Family!

Amazon even has Rotella T6 5W-40 (4qt jug) for $19.97 for the past 2 months.
This is ridiculous. Local WM sells the same jug for around $24-$27.

Really contemplating switching to T6 for good with the JUDGE
As long as SHELL keeps the SN rating away from it.

m1 costco deal, or any gf-5 group 3 oil with moly. Only a couple don't have moly. I run redline and PUP in two cars, if both of those brands were to go away I would be buying m1 costco deal.

When I bought it for my last oil change, WM didn't have it at either location. Finally found a NAPA that would order it. Truck really likes it though. haven't heard of it being discontinued. Still shows up on the Pennzoil site.

I can order it online WM website, but just looking for something I can walk in and grab off the shelf. Shouldn’t have to be a big deal to buy oil IMO.

First you would have to define what you mean by good.
Redline 5/30 quites the hemi tick. Pup carries the FCA certification and has great ware numbers on analysis.
You could check out motul and schaefers. M1 is used by many.
