So after many attempts at getting my dealer to turn my DRLs on with no success, I finally bit the bullet and bought the Philips LED DRL 8. The reviews and videos I've watched are all positive. I found this video and like the location he mounted his...I either want to mount mine there, or on the lower plastic piece in my bumper. Here's the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PrlO0jfwl0

Here is a picture of the front of my truck. If I don't mount where he did in the video, I would mount where the LEDs are now on each side of the bull bar. Do you think they would be effective there or should I mount on the grill?

Personally after watching the video and looking at your truck, I'd mount them where you have them, opposite sides of the bull bar should look good. Up in the grille seems like of silly to me personally. Like they were stuck on with no thought.

Truck looks good btw.

though, kinda blocked on your setup there.

These are the Morimoto X.DRLs that we sell on my truck. Quite bright!

I don't like them on the grill like that. Looks better where the tow hooks would go.

Ya, that's where I'll end up putting them. I was just worried about the bull bar blocking them somewhat.

Ok, here they are guys -

My review - install was as simple as can be. Hook the positive and negative wires to the battery and just find a spot to secure the module somewhere close. The brackets just two screws mount those to whatever you're mounting them to, in my case the lower plastic piece in the bumper. The lights themselves just simply 'pop' into the brackets and lock into place. Do that part last! They don't come out after you pop them in. I tried seeing if the lights dim when the headlights are turned on without tapping into the headlight wire with that third wire as mentioned, that did not work. So I hooked that dimmer wire to my parking lights, but for some reason they don't dim. I may not of made good contact but I'm not too worried about it right now. My lights are slightly angled down due to the way the plastic piece is angled. Not sure how to angle them up a little...any ideas on that? But overall they're great. They come on as soon as you turn the truck on and go off about 4-5 seconds after the truck turns off.

Looks good man. I bought a set of these back in June and still haven't installed them. I may try and tackle that this weekend. On a side note, check with your insurance agent about a rate reduction....my insurance rate will drop $65 a year with drl's added. My agent told me it doesn't matter that they aren't factory installed either. I deal with Country insurance, so other company's may not give this same break....but, its worth checking into.
