Pilot bearing install question

Which side of the pilot bearing faces the transmission (is visible outwards) when installed? The failed pilot bearing is in pieces and I have nothing to reference.
The side which has the branding has a rubber gasket.

Thanks, that's what my intuition was.

The pilot bearing was installed with the seal facing the transmission and the motor is on it's way back in. I'll report back if I have an early failure.
