I just finished my 2nd spark plug change, and I'm really disappointed in Napa Auto Parts. I replaced my plugs at 35k with the ones recommended by Napa. I only got 6 cylinders done, and I had back spams for a couple years so I never did replace the last 4 plugs. After joining the forum, I learned more about plugs, and my performance seems to be worse than other Rams in MPG so I replaced with coppers at 55k. Here is a side by side of copper with 55k on the right, and platinum with 20k on the left:

That's one big difference!

Hemi's don't like platinum plugs so that could be the problem.

Truckless...
Always use the factory Champion Coppers on the Hemis, it's the only thing they like.

That is a HUGE difference between the two.

Yup copper are the way to go. The NGKs are pretty good on N02 from what I've read as well.can't really say how they are on a non nitrous system though as I only run the champion plugs, cheaper and they work well.

Champion on older Dodge's and NGK on new ones always copper seems any other "upgrade" screws them up I have no idea why. If you can though NGK plugs are much better than Champion if you have a choice.

A lot of HEMI owners have found the same thing. The engine just likes copper plugs best.

How much did you pay for those platinum's? I bet that is why napa recommended them.

I learned the same lesson with 2 x colder, wasted 225$ Canadian. I will soon find out how the Crazy Spartan Cam will act with coppers when I drop her in the R/T.

I agree. My Dad's truck was misfiring... I start with the easy things, lets look at the plugs.

Crap-tastic Autolite Double Plats. Who the ____ put those in there?! Some yahoo in Arizona. Didn't clean anything for a crap, dug a grain of sand in nice and deep (felt cross threaded). Idiots.

Threw in some NGK V-powers (basic copper) and the truck runs GREAT!

That was the worst looking platinum plug, and the last 1 installed, so it may not have gotten the 2nd check for tightness. Would that usually throw a code or cause other problems? Spark plug boot was in good shape and everything looked ok, anything else to check?
