Yes, my 2018 has CAD. From a reliablity standpoint, its kind of double edged. I want it reliable that when I shift transfer case to 4wd, I want it instant, and not relying on ABS to be satisfied of wheel speed to get the shift completed. On the other hand, Ive replaced many transfer case halves and front drive shafts on 3rd gen trucks because the owners drove too long after they "felt some vibration". This vibration in turn ended up being caused by the double cardan joint worn out on the front driveshaft, and cracked the transfer case.

Im competent enough to check my U joints, and not terribly concerned in the fuel mileage gain (if there is indeed any on these type of trucks gained by CAD).

The arrangement I’d like to see in the PWs is no CAD, return the steering damper skid plate from the 2013 and earlier trucks, locking hubs. I think it’s very unlikely the FCA bean counters would ever allow that much of a departure from the rest of the 2500/3500 fleet drivetrain.

$1.43 for a 10amp fuse. Really satisfied with the service today. I also had two recalls serviced. About an 1hr total.

Took me longer to drive to the dealer than to get the service done. I hope this was the fix and it lasts. Thanks for everyones help

Hmmm. Wonder why the fuse blew in the first place?

Me too.

Wonder if the fast shift into 4wd while rolling backwards had anything to do with it?? I don’t know what could have caused it to blow and with the hope of not sounding dumb that’s one guess i have.

I see the dealer mentioned aftermarket power steps. How are those powered?

They are amp steps powered through the OBD port. Plug and play

According to my service information, Fuse 77 provides ignition B+ to the following on a power wagon (or gas 2500HD for that matter)

- Drive train control module
- Front axle disconnect module
- Final drive control module

When a fuse blows, 10A in this case, there would have to be something on the circuit, drawing above the rated amperage. This could mean any of the above mentioned components, or a short to ground in the circuit of course.
