Hey guys, this is my first post on this site and I really need some help. I picked up a 2005 Daytona a couple weeks ago and one of my first mods is to change the headunit. I have been at this for a couple days now and I cannot figure it out. I have full power on the headunit but I cannot get any sound to play out of any speakers. I have the 7 speaker setup in the truck and I keep reading that i have to bypass the Infinity amp to get sound to work, but I am lost as to how to do it. I also read that the solid blue power amp wire has to be connected from the harness and I have that hooked up to the blue/white wires from the headunit and wiring harness that comes with it. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks for the help.

Thanks, now I know the amp is behind the glovebox but which plug does the metra wiring harness go into on the amp? Is the one closest to me because it looked like there were 2 or 3 different plugs.

each plug is for different functions.... one is to install an aftermarket radio and the other is to bypass the factory amp

Designed to be used for 2002-2004 Dodge Ram Trucks this harness is used to Bypass the Factory Infinity Sound System in vehicles with the Handsfree capable option. You will want to check your rear view mirror for an icon of a telephone. If this icon is present the Metra 70-6510 is the harness for you.

One 22-pin power plug, one 18-pin amplifier plug
Harness is plugged in at the factory amplifier and ran to the location of the aftermarket radio or the aftermarket amplifier
For 2002-2005 Dodge Ram (Infiniti System)

for all of the folks that are wondering why they have no sound here is the procedure .Onthe 05 ram with the infinity system there is a amp mounted behind the glove box you must unplug this amp and take it out you almost have to remove it to get the plugs out you can remove glove box by opening the box then pressing in on both sides at the rear of the box. box will dropout behind box there will be a plate made of plastic this plate extenends tothe other side of the dash remove enough screws so this plate will swing out but not off this will allow you to get to the amp there are 3 bolts hold theamp in place 2 you can see and 1 that is on the left side you can not see these are 10mm get that bolt on the left out is astruggle be careful of very sharp metal edge! when you get the amp out our just unplug it if you can your almost home free .now you need to track down a amp bypass plug made by metra part #70-6510 some retailers will tell you you need a#70-6512 do not listen to them if you amp has 2 plugs you need the #70-6510 the guys at metra will tell you the same thing the plug is 49.95 it plugs right in you get both plugs plus a head unit plug with just your hot and ground and constant on and illumination leads the amp plugs come with about 10ft of wire if you want to wire in another amp. when you do this procedure you willloose your 3 dash speakers you can get them back if you wire in a after market amp . wire up the head unit as you would of normally white to white white/black to white/black and so on this will give you the two front door speakers and the two rear door speakers there will be alot of wires left over these are for your centers in the dash you must run them to a aftermarket amp .or you can do what i did and forget about them because there factory crap any way and you cant get to them to replace them so ijust replaced my door speakers with polks and the sound is great no amp needed .to remove door panels front doors have 4 screw remove door handle is a10mm bolt remove and handle comes off with it lift door panel up and it will seperate from door unhook leads and now you can replace those crap factory speakers. hope this helps some one.
