I have a 98 dodge ram with a 5.2 in it and I'm in the process of swapping the transmission. The transmission thats in the truck now has the numbers 064-1 stamped into the bell housing and the one i picked up came out of a 97 with a 5.9 that was recently rebuilt but the numbers on it are 064-9. The tail pieces of both trannys are stamped with the same number and seem identical. The only difference i have noticed is the speed sensor is different. My question is will swapping the speed sensor over and then installing allow the new tranny to function properly or are they not swappable. Please help! and thanks in advance for your time
