ok i haven't actually checked if there is oil in my intake but i suspect it for many reasons which i will further list

  • Ticking on acceleration
  • Oil consumption (3 quarts a month on average or 3 quarts on a long trip 800+ miles)
  • Cat codes thrown as well as o2 sensor codes ever so often
  • Constantly fouled spark plugs

that's all i can think of off the top of my head all information was taken over the course of a year with some trips up to Maine from New Jersey

The second half is which repair to do? I was planning on the Huges air gap with the stock intake. A member here suggested a Mopar M1 is there a reason for one over the other? or should i just use the reinforcing plate kit? money is not an issue.

Take your time, if you get frustrated, stop and cool down. Do the cap and rotor too, never a better time to do it. Some folks say do the cam sensor, I say worry about it when it goes out since on some trucks replacing that opens a can of worms that was otherwise sealed.
Clean the throttle body and IAC and its passage as well since it's already going to have to be off to do the airgap.

Ok now that i may get to work on the truck this afternoon. What do you all recommend for the water pump holding tool to take off the fan? I tried checking loan a tool from a few local part stores to no avail.

I believe I used a just used a square pry bar held between 2 bolts at a time to break them loose. Even a big screw driver should work, and don't be shy with the PB Blaster.
I have heard of other people using a strap wrench for this job too, I just do not have one.

Emergancy!!!!!!!!

:help:

all righty well the water pump went smooth. went onto the plenum the first :wtf2: is 3 of the injectors on the passenger side stayed behind when i lifted the rails off and i did take my time with lube... so i was going to handle them when i took off the keg. Well on to the keg, i loosend the 12 bolts pulled the keg and apparently 2 of the bolts SNAPPED!!!!!! The first and last bolt on the passenger are still in the head!

I cant torch it cause when the injectors stayed behind fuel spilt and the back bolt is very short.. i would really hate to have to do the heads since this is the only two days i have to work on it..

The bolts that where a problem one came out with a stud removal too the other came out with vice grips and a hammer. the plenum gasket was insane.. It was the gasket was blown out pretty much everywhere. now that the airgap is installed properly i can already notice a difference from sound to how it starts... let see how it does in time.
