Pop and lock install, tailgate wiring for 2018 1500

can't find a reference for how to tap into the wiring that controls my tailgate lock on my 2018 1500 longhorn. Want to add a lock for the topper that works with the existing key fob. Thanks!

Follow the two wires that goto the lock solenoid in the tailgate to under the truck. Tap them there to bring up in the corner of the bed.
As for the wiring to the topper there should be also two wires, one is "Lock" the other "UnLock".
How it works is both wires from the actuator are already brought to ground, when you either Lock/Unlock the tailgate the corresponding wire is switched from ground to +12V.
Hook up both wires from the tailgate actuator to the topper lock wiring and test. If the topper unlocks when the tailgate locks just swap the two wires.
