Hey, wondering if anyone has powder coated steel rims? Specifically in a salt belt region. And if so how have they held up? I picked up a nice set of 17's a little while back. At first they were going to be just a winter setup but now I'm thinking I'd like to go all year round. They have already started to rust slightly just in storage, so I'm wondering if powder coating them would be a waste. Thought about Line-X or something similar too but I imagine that would probably lead to balancing headaches...

I powdercoated my Magnaglow 5" exhaust tips, and my N-Fab steps, and live in Ohio, and they have held up great ... With powdercoat, as it is with most things, it's all about the prep ... A reputable coater will know what needs done ... They should hold up just fine

Ok good to know, thanks. I guess the stuff the manufacturers put on various parts is just lacking.

Yeah my buddy had the same experience with his N-Fabs, got them Line-X'ed. Good to know the powder coat is holding up for ya.

I had the rims for my '66 Barracuda Powder Coated at Les Schwab. They turned out great, and the price was $45 each (but that was around 2008).
