powder coating wheels

my new to me truck came with kmc rims that were purple. i loved everything else about the truck so i bought it with purple rims. first thing i did was spray paint them black but i know that wont last.

will powder coating aluminum rims last? is that a viable option or should i sell them and get something else? i called a local shop and the said prices to do it start at $425 for the set of 4.

They will definitely last .... best way to finish wheels IMO ...

Powdercoating holds up extremely well. I have that done on my other vehicles wheels and still looks good.

I am planning on getting a powder coat machine and building an oven long enough for bumpers and wide enough for 40" wheels which might end up popping up pretty soon lol ...

For Powder Coating they sand blast both sides of the wheel
Then they heat the article in an large walk in heat heater
when it reaches temperature, they connect it up either positive or negative electricity
They they spray the power or powders onto the object to be sprayed,
The powder sticks to the object & they put it back into the oven.

Not only can they spray single color, but they can shoot things like candies or color changing, the texture can be changed, smooth, rough, in between

The powder coater that i use, was just starting out 6 years ago ,
The building is about 200' X 300 ' he & his wife & daughter lived in a 40' trailer on the property.
Now i never see his wife, the trailer is gone & his business is Booming
Before i could get a job done by him within a week, now timing is closer to a month

how long should it take to do 4 wheels? im guessing they have to remove the tires and tpms stuff.
