My 2017 1500 Laramie with Ecodiesel only has 8400 miles after a year of ownership. I have never experience any issues with this truck since driving it away from the dealer a year ago. A couple of days ago while driving straight, but getting ready to change lanes, a red warning flashed on the dash informing me to check power steering. At the same time, I felt the steering tighten up as I was getting ready to change from righ lane of traffic back up to left lane that was clear. I almost didn't make it as the steering was so tight it was like trying to drive it without any power assist, only more difficult. I was able to pull into a turn around on the 4 lane highway and head back home. The steering was so stiff I decided to shut the truck off and let it sit for a moment, thinking whatever the problem was might reset itself. Nope, didn't work. I decide to make the U turn and head back home only about half mile away. It took amazing effort to get the thing to turn, and even had to back up and turn some more to clear the curb. I managed to get it to turn into my driveway, and after wrestling with it for about 5 minutes, was able to get it back in the garage. When I shut it off, I felt the steering lighten up again. I restarted it and it was fine, worked just like it should, but there was that red ps icon that flashed briefly when I started it.

I called my local dealer, only about 6 miles away and explained what happened. I asked him if that was something on a recall and the adviser said he had never heard of that issue. Just wondering if anyone else had anything similar happen to them. I drove it to the dealer today and left it. Have not heard anything back from them yet. Anyone familiar with this issue?

That sounds like an ordeal, I've never had anything like that happen other than one time in my 66 buick when the belt broke while I was driving. You also may have better luck answer wise if you post this in either the 4th gen or eco diesel section instead of the 5th gen area.

Just a heads up. You posted this in the 5th gen forum. You might get a better response if you post on the 4th Gen forum or maybe a mod can move the thread.

As usual .Many on this forum pay no attention to generations when posting. Everyone here is much more polite On the Corvette forum you'd get the internet equivalent of being tarred and feathered

Agreed, in most cases it seems to be people who use their phones rather than a laptop or desktop. I don't get that at all, I tried using my phone once with the tapatalk app and it was awful, I don't understand why people wouldn't just use something with an actual browser, its so much more convenient.
