So my dads friend is starting his shop up in dallas and as a good gesture and to get his business out, he is gonna let me weld up and build anything I want as long as I pay for materials and get the word out. So I have chosen to build a pre runner bumper for my baby and possibly even a rear one. I have a good idea and have done a lot of research but was wondering what y'all are running or have seen done. Just trying to get ideas because I have to draw it up. Oh and hopefully I can get him in to doing stuff on a discount for RF but got to let him get going.

Shoot, I'd drive to Dallas to have replacement bumpers made for cost! That's a sweet deal and if he wants to get more word out let me know...

As far as the bumper goes, I think the skid plate looks a little too big. Maybe something a little more modest, but I do like that design how it keeps the factory fog lights. That's one thing that I don't like about any of the bumper replacements out there now - they do away with factory fog light housings. I'd say similar design, but a little less skid plate.

Yea I completely agree with you and mine is going to be black so it won't be so obvious. Ye I already have one drew up and I already want to change it, but as far as what you want he can change anything to how you want it so that won't be an issue. I will deff talk to him about getting some stuff on trucks to get the word out.

Sweet thanks! I'm just looking to do something similar to the standard replacement bumper, but I want factory fog light housings haha.

On the rear are you going to integrate dual exhaust and/or slots for rear AUX or LED lighting? I think that would be pretty cool.

Keep in mind that by making your own bumper that you take the liability of having an accident. Should you modify your bumper "illegally" your insurance has the option to drop an accident claim
I have also heard a story of someone being charged with vehicle manslaughter because of an overbuilt homemade bumper

I'm all for homemade/ fabricated parts just wanted to bring it to your attention!

"By bypassing the design of the crumple zones and attatching a rigid mount that connects straight to the frame you would effectively get rid of all the impact absoption the vehicle has. Imagine if you replaced your shocks with stiff steel rods how every bump you hit would feel. As far as the insurace goes, i would have to think that youd still be covered though. "

I understand that and I'ma talk to insurance before I do this but I feel that between the 4 drivers in my house,73 years and no wrecks and only 1 ticket so knock on wood but I ain't to worried about a wreck, no I do understand that it's still impossible to control others but thats why I am building this. I watched my freind completely destroy his front end on his ram and 30 when a old man pulled out in front of him. Everything aside it gonna be well built but not overbuilt

Custom front bumpers are always the first thing I notice on a truck and I think it's great advertising
