I know it comes down to personal preference but just curious what a lot of people consider must have mods..

I m debating between a tonneau cover, grille, and roof mounted LED light.

Tonneau provides the most added functionality in my opinion...

Andy had to ruin a good thing! ; ) I was looking at the Diamondback covers and they seem pretty cool. A little expensive and it doesn t look they re very easy to obtain in Canada..

I have a undercover flex tri fold. Apparently useless for some but I find it extremely handy. First time it kept my **** dry it payed for its self.. next day folded it up and put a 1 ton pallet load of pellets in the bed. All depends on what u need.

I may be wrong but I think when they said the fiberglass covers I think they were referring to the one piece fiberglass covers that hinge in front. If that is what they're talking about then yes they do suck. My buddy had one on his truck. If whatever he wanted to haul was taller than he called us up for help to remove the cover because it isn't a one person job. Also when it is off the bed it's a ***** to store without getting damaged because it's so big. It takes up some real-estate. With that said, I didn't have my ram for two days before I put a tri fold soft cover on it. I bought a Gator brand model for about 250 shipped. Took me about 3 minutes to install it and about the same to remove it when needed. And best of all I do it by myself. Just my 2 cents ;)

that's exactly what i was talking about. why pay $1000+ for something that makes the bed basically useless? and yes you're right they are a pain to remove and you need at least 2 people to do it. at that point why even buy a truck? better off with a SUV or something

Top 3 for me are tonneau, lighting and tires, then small stuff like mud flaps, weathertech mats, level...

unless it's fibreglass then they are basically useless

Preference dude... My cheap-o roll-up soft cover works better keeping things dry than my buddy's tri-fold on his 2011 Ram. We both hauled friends and luggage up north a couple months ago through heavy rainfall - everything in his bed was soaked - all their clothes and stuff needed to be dried. Nothing more than a few drops by the tailgate in mine. Sure, a big heavy, one piece cover will work even better, but they're a ***** to remove if you need more vertical space for hauling stuff.

OP, my .02 is tonneau (get one you like), and weathertech mats. They'll help big time preventing the inside of the cab getting destroyed prematurely. And HID headlight bulbs if applicable.

In this order:
1. Tonneau
2. Window tint
3. Lights (HID/LED Light Bar)

i've never had an issue with tri-folds letting water in but you do still lose a little bed space with them. have 1 for the silverado and ended up having to remove the dam thing at least twice a week so it got to the point where i just left it off and it's sat in the barn ever since. with the ram i learned my lesson and went with a roll up. it's been fine and i've yet have have it let any water in

Undercover Flex seems to be pretty popular here. I ll have to read some reviews on it.
