I have a 2008 3500 Laramie Mega cab. The right factory battery failed at 70000 miles. I replaced both of them. Approximately 48000 later the new right battery failed followed by the right battery 15000 miles later.

The battery failures were direct shorts. They got hot enough to boil the battery electrolyte.

I have never seen the voltage over 14 volts. It has always ran there. Maybe a little less in the summer times.

Has anyone experienced this?

Did you replace it with a mopar battery or other brand?

Never had that issue, but from what I have experienced the stock mopar battery lasted 6yrs in the AZ heat which never happens, replaced with one from autozone, and it lasted 2yrs.
