Hey all,
First real post here. I'm from Belgium (the nick should have been a giveaway) and just treated myself to a 2015 1500 Sport HEMI (I'm a ********* at $7/gallon gas in Belgium).
I'm getting my car in about 3 months and already started the modding. HID's are on the list, as well as upgrading the supposedly premium Alpine system.
I think the mid and high speakers should be OK as well as the surround, but in my previous cars (Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, BMW) what was always lacking (no matter how "premium") was the bass.
So I'm planning to start out by asking my local car audio shop to put in a CleanSweep, a JL Audio HD750/1 amp and a JL Audio 12W7AE-3 Sub in a custom MDF/Fiberglass enclosure.
Do you think this will go a long way in getting the sound where it needs to be? I like to FEEL the music. Listen to everything from classical to rock to metal to r&b and rap.
Don't want to mess with the other speakers since they are 2 Ohm and most aftermarket ones are 4 Ohm. Don't want to cut my power in half.
What do you think? Hit me with your wisdom!
